Lena in Tanzania

Lena, you are back in Tanzania! The old landrover drove slowly and not completely straight through the night towards Moshi. The sounds and the smells of the African night made us remember the wonderful time we spent together here, some 20 years ago as one happy family. I know you loved Tanzania and loved speaking swahili. Kärran, Jocke, Fredrik and me were back to go game-driving, climb the Kilimanjaro and scuba-dive in the turqoise Indian ocean outside Zanzibar.


Five days trekking and climbing brought us up to the summit and the Uhuru Peak 5895 masl. On the summit we walked away some 100 m and built a new cairn to the tribute of you Lena and Mårten, and we placed two photos of you to watch and follow the development on the African continent.


After coming down from the mountain we spent some days on the sun-drenched beaches where we used to take visitors to Tanzania to show them the reefs, the corals and the starry nights. Walking on the beach made you come back close with happy memories. Thanks for those memories.
